One of the striking personalities of this language program is Adventure Education Center Spanish Institute’s adventure tours. These tours are offered with the idea that a student experience more than just language but also the wondrous world that makes Costa Rica so special.
Each campus has their own personality and with it their own adventure. You will find such a variety of offerings you will want to study and explore, at all three campuses. At AEC that is something one can do. Given the time and place to roam, you will leave with not only a strong language background but be grounded in what the real Costa Rica is all about.
Explornatura, our in house tour service, has been working with AEC for over 10 years. AEC is the only language school with our own in-house tour operations. By being in-house, you will find each school’s Explornatura’s representative will be more responsive and accessible to our student’s individual cultural and adventure needs. Costa Rica is a very special place. Our guides have years of experience in Costa Rica .With such wide options to see and do, AEC and Explornatura combine to help insure your “Exploring the Land” is the best it can be. “Exploring the Land” is an important concept for AEC. Our goal is to provide our students with a quality, well rounded and professional experience that ideally compliments our language programs.
AEC ADVENTURE POINT PROGRAM
AEC and Explornatura have designed a unique method for planning and budgeting your experience outside the classroom. This method involves a point system where you can receive discounted pricing on all the AEC/Explornatura adventure and cultural activities. A point value is allocated for each tour or service offered. You can find the tour descriptions and the accompanying point values by clicking on the links below. Adventure points can ONLY be purchased in 75 point increments. The cost is $50.00 per 75 points. There is no limit on the amount of the Adventure Points that you can purchase. Add up the total point value for all tours or services that interest you. Once your point value is obtained enter the nearest value in the “Adventure Point Program” section of your online registration form and fill in the necessary information.
PURCHASING YOUR AEC ADVENTURE POINTS
For every week of Spanish classes you purchase at the AEC Language Institute, you will be awarded 50 Adventure Points to use however and whenever you choose. These 50 points are awarded to students regardless of whether you choose to purchase more points or not. The weekly Adventure Points are not included as part of the Kindergarten and Children’s program. IF YOU DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR POINTS AT THIS TIME, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DISCOUNTED ADVENTURE POINT PROGRAM AND WILL HAVE TO PAY THE REGULAR PRICES FOR YOUR TOURS AND SERVICES. In order for you to take full advantage of the Adventure Point program, we require that points must be purchased through your AEC representative at the same time that you are purchasing your language program. A 10% deposit on your Adventure Points is required when they are purchased from your AEC representative. On your first day of Spanish lessons you must ACTIVATE your points by paying the balance to the Explornatura Representative at your school. Upon activating your points you will receive your Explornatura Adventure Passport which is where we will keep track of your points and how you use them during your time in Costa Rica. You cannot use your Adventure Points without your Passport.
TRAVELING WITH YOUR FAMILY
If you are traveling to Costa Rica with your family you will receive 50 Adventure Points for every week that you purchase per family member enrolled in the school.It does not include the Kindergarten and Children’s Programs. Families have the option to purchase Adventure Points as a group and will receive one Explornatura Adventure Passport for your whole family. Any products purchased by your family with Adventure Points will be recorded in your family’s passport.
HOW DOES YOUR EXPLORNATURA ADVENTURE PASSPORT WORK?
When you activate your points with one of our knowledgeable Explornatura representatives, you receive your passport with all of the information you need about your points and how to use them. Your first Adventure Passport is provided to you, if you lose it the cost to replace it is 15 points.
To use your points all you have to do is sign up with an Explornatura Representative for whatever product you want. Once you have signed up, your purchase will be logged and stamped in your passport so that you can keep track of the points that you have left. It is that simple!
For Explornatura it is very important that you have the chance to use ALL of your Adventure Points. In order to facilitate this, we have included in the Explornatura Adventure Catalog items such as t-shirts, coffee, and picture CDs that have a small point value so you can use your points in smaller denominations. No adventure points can be used for AEC programs or housing costs. We also have the Explornatura Adventure Points CREDIT VOUCHER that allows you to transfer your points to someone else or use them yourself within one year. Your Explornatura Representative can fill out your Credit Voucher located on the last page of you Passport when you finish your stay in Costa Rica and with that voucher you will be able to use those points in the future.
